Custom HEPA filter for 3D printer

You may need a HEPA filter that can filter fine dust if you are using a 3D printer.

3D printers will produce fine particles and VOC emissions during operation. Some 3D printers on the market have a closed body and have a purification system inside, which can filter out these emissions; but some open 3D printers do not have the HEPA filter system, the smoke will be discharged into the room, which is harmful to the human body.

PLA produces more toxic particles than ABS, but PLA does not produce more pollution than ABS. Both will produce odor, even if there is no smell, it does not mean that no toxic gas is produced, usually, some are colorless and odorless. Here, it is recommended to use the combination of a custom HEPA filter + carbon filter.

HEPA filtration grade is H13, which can filter 99.9% of particles larger than 0.3 microns, while most of the particles released by 3D printers are larger than 0.3 microns, so HEPA has a very good performance on purifying this emission.

Activated carbon particles have a very good performance on the adsorption of odors and toxic and harmful gases. It can be used in combination with HEPA filters to remove harmful gas, VOC and so on.
